Our patients have been loving our website question and answer sessions, so today we are continuing this trend with a Q&A session all about cosmetic veneers! Our Elmhurst veneers dentists are answering questions about how veneers work, and whom they can help. If you have questions, this article is perfect for you!

Let’s get started…

Q: How long does it normally take to have veneers placed?

A: Our dental team is generally able to complete dental veneer treatment in just two or three dental appointments. These sessions usually take place over a period of two or three weeks. The time in between your first and last appointment is necessary so that your individual veneers can be crafted.

Q: I have some existing dental stains, are veneers right for me?

A: Veneers may be a viable option for you! If you have hard to treat staining, you can cover your visible teeth with white, bright veneers. If professional whitening treatments are effective on your teeth, you can lighten your overall smile with dental whitening, and then cover any remaining problematic teeth with veneers.

Q: How are dental veneers different than dental bonding?

A: During the dental veneer placement process, our dentist places porcelain restorations over you natural teeth. During dental bonding, our dentist covers your enamel (or parts of your enamel) with dental resin. Both of these treatments are highly effective—you can choose which is one is right for you based on your aesthetic goals and timeline!
